Sounds from Futures Past

Born from the retro-futuristic imagination of the 1980s, the story of Vandroid began its musical journey in 2010, when a collection of remixes of "lost" recordings by British artist Nick Demetris Nicola surfaced online. These enigmatic tracks sparked intrigue and set the stage for what was to come.

In 2014, the Vandroid soundtrack was officially unveiled, composed as a sonic companion to the Vandroid comic book series. This full-length album paid homage to the golden era of sci-fi and action movies, blending high-energy electro with vivid nostalgia. Created by Nick Demetris Nicola in collaboration with artists from the Parisian label Ed Banger Records, the soundtrack captured the spirit of retro-futurism in every beat.

VANDROID 2.0

Fast forward to 2025, and Vandroid evolves yet again with the release of "2.0", a follow-up album that brings new energy to the saga. Featuring contributions from retrowave heavyweights Tonebox, ALEX, Droid Bishop, Rogue VHS, Adieu Aru, Waveshaper, and Fred Falke, this album reimagines Vandroid for a new era. Though these tracks may be labeled as "remixes," the original versions remain lost in time, adding an air of mystery to the project.

In addition to these reimagined tracks, "2.0" includes four classic remixes from the early days of Vandroid, now available on Bandcamp and streaming platforms for the first time, alongside one exclusive original mix. With this release, Nick and his collaborators continue to expand the Vandroid universe, blending past and present into a thrilling synthwave odyssey.
